Bio
Tha Whooliganz - damn shame their album never dropped out!
It all started off back in the days when Cypress Hill, House of Pain and Funkdoobiest burst out on the scene. Mad Skillz (Scott Caan, the son of actor James Caan) and Mudfoot (Alan Maman), two young white rappers from Beverly Hills being around the circuit of rhymin' hooked up with B-Real, Muggs and House of Pain. The Whooliganz-sound developed around the Soul Assassins, and a whole album was completed around 1993 to 1995, when Mad Skillz and Mudfoot were about 13 or 14 years old. T-Ray did most of that album and they also had much production from DJ Lethal and the Baka Boyz on it. As far as the shit is known, it was dope beats, especially the single “Put your hands up!” produced by Lethal was the shit. But to be honest, personally I always wished that Everlast or someone else would be the one rappin over those beats, because the Whooliganz had high pitched rappin' voices which sounded like some childrens` shit to me though they had skillz, no doubt... But I mean - Everlast rappin over the “Put your handz up”-beats would have been the overkill...
Anyway, Tommy Boy released the “Put your handz up”-single plus a video (watch the video online on http://search.music.yahoo.com/search/?m=all&p=whooliganz& x=13&y=9)
It was getting a good response but it was like mixed reactions at the label. In an interview, Alan “Mudfoot” Maman, now better known as the dope-ass producer Alchemist stated that he thought they were scared, didn't wanna take the chance. The response Tommy Boy got probably wasn't what they were expecting, so they just kinda shelved the album, which should have been released as “Make Way for the Whooliganz”.
Whussup now with them? Scott Caan made his way as an actor (“Oceans Eleven”) and Alan Maman - still a Soul Assassin - is a producer that needs no introduction. Check out his homepage www.alchemistbeats.com
